Not yet a complete list, IMO.

Bradford is not ready, and should go back for another year IMO.
|
Another year may help Bradford skillwise and physically, but he loses 4/5 of maybe the best OL in the country. It is going to be hard to duplicate this year's success under those circumstances. He may be at his peak value wise right now.
|
Bradford (and Tebow for that matter) are in the same boat that Vince Young was after the 2005 season. They could really benefit skills-wise from another year at college but they've pretty much accomplished everything they can at this level so their pro prospects can only go down from here. Probably should cash in while the getting is good. Remember Matt Leinart. He's a consensus Top 3 pick after 2004 but lasted until the 10th pick after staying in school an extra year.

thank you bob. Exactly what I meant to say but far better said.
|
It is a two-edged sword. If they get enough money, then they can get the football education they need by being a sub for a year, but unfortunately it doesn't work that way often enough to work. Usually they are forced into the Pro limelight immediately. Too bad.

Sounds like Tebo is gonna stay in school since he likely would not have been first round selection, according to some anyways, atleast as a QB. needs to work on his passing motion and accuracy.

I tell you what imagine him in the Wildcat offense. You know I wouldnt be surprised if we start to see teams drafting these type of QB's and using them to run the Wildcat offense in certain situations. I would love for us to draft Pat White and install the Wildcat offense. That could be the answer to our short yardage woes. |
Tebow staying at school is a good idea for him at the moment, as a Quarterback his pro stock has gone down this year however I think Bradford would do right to declare and come out this year, he is a very mechanically polished passer and although could do with another year in school,as previously states he probably won't be able to top this past season. Also on his side this year is the weak Quarterback class, im sure he is a better prospect than those rated at the top at the moment (Bomar and Harrell).

On a defense that is so depleted that is a pretty stupid career move. I don't think he will regret it as much as some because of his freakish physical gifts, but I think he will regret it.

...and I'm guessing he's not an actuarial science major. |

Watching the playoffs on TV, and I am not the expert you guys are, it is obvious that the Texans are not in the class of the Ravens, Steelers, Eagles, etc. when it comes to run defense. We must go there first, but I am not sure whether that means a DL, LB, or S. They all play their part in Run stopping. I would like to see a head hunter at Safety (Had my eye on Mays), A mean run stuffing MLB (several) so Demeco can move outside, or a DE (I like Michael Johnson out of GT). We will never go far in the playoffs without a defense in the class of the above mentioned teams. On an off-thread note (sorta): How can a Defensive Coach like Frank Bush work for Smith when he has a completely different philosophy of defense that his boss. Are we likely to see the same defense rehashed or has he been playing possum. |
