Today's the day... let's use this thread for running commentary for today's first round.

It's here! It's finally here!

(and on a side note, I actually found the thread this year)

I love this day and now.....the next 2 days too. :D

I'm going to guess before any picks are made, that we will be drafting Devin McCourty.

Oh geez we've gotta put up with Deion interviewing guys in the green room? Excuse me while I go throw up.

I don't mind Deion, it won't be a total shebacle.

This split 3-day format may eventually grow on me, but I kinda liked the all-day Saturday format for most of the draft. I could plan on spending at least a full day on it and catch the meat of the draft. No telling what may happen with my schedule tomorrow and Saturday. Also, this just feels really fake so far. Maybe I need to switch over to the ESPN feed...

I think that there are going to be 2 locks at QB.

ESPN showing Gerald McCoy who is nearly in prayer "Please not Detroit. Please, oh, Lord, not Detroit..."

Detroit gets the best player in the draft with the 2nd overall pick. Nicely done.

Just wondering... instead of using an early pick on an unknown RB, what about trading a mid round pick for Dom Barber's older brother in Dallas? The Cowboys may be looking to move Marion to get more ammo to move up tonight.

I'll take Gerhart over Barber.

I saw Gerald McCoy as a Sophomore and thought he'd be a good pick down the road for the Texans. Didn't realize he'd be the 3rd pick by the time he was drafted or we'd be picking 20th. Good for him and good for us.

Ok, now we can REALLY start the draft. It should get interesting from here on.

Man I hate the rookie wage scale!! It would be sooo much more interesting and exciting if teams actually had the option to move up. I'd love a draft where teams at the tail end could gamble their future by making a bold move up.

Uhmm... Big XII seems to be center stage here. Wonder what those SEC elitists think about that.

And all these Sooners going early must mean that Bob Stoops is now officially overrated. :D

I only put Joe Haden on my draft board b/c he ran a horrible time at the Combine. Thought there was a shot he'd drop to #20. Not so much. :cool:

Hmmm...at least now we don't have to contemplate taking Spiller now. I was wondering if he'd be there along with Weatherspoon at #20 and I'd have to get into an argument with myself. Whew!

Most Denver fans want a trade down other than those who want Dez Bryant as a Marshall replacement. Denver trades down with SF (#13).

Do the 9ers want Earl Thomas or Dan Williams? :p

Dan Williams, Earl Thomas, Kyle Wilson, and Sean Weatherspoon are still on the board, that's nice.

Alualu and Mathews taken rather early.... That means that some top 10 calibre players may still be available by the time the Texans pick.

Well, I hope the Texans are on the phones trying to trade down because they've got nothing left once Philly takes Thomas, unless they want to go for Williams.

The Broncos trade back again with Philly. McDaniels is looking pretty smart now.

Philly's trading up for Graham? They could have gotten him later.
