Another league I'm in claimed its winner last week so they are starting over. I make the same picks there as I do here and I took KC partly for the jinx factor.

Believe it or not, the AFC South is still out there if the Texans can get their act together. If Denver helps us on Sunday night, the Colts could be 4-3 by week's end and a 3-4 Houston team is right there in the mix.

I was thinking the same thing....I'm good at jinxes.

SD

I don't think the Jags can beat anybody this year.

HPF Bob 10-17-2013 06:16 PM

I called the Jags winning this week for the following reasons:

1) SD played Monday night.
2) SD has to travel three time zones for a noon start.
3) They are probably overlooking the Jags.
4) The Jags have figured out how to exploit Blackmon and their offense is entirely different when they can get the ball to him (ask the Texans).
5) I think staying with Denver as well as they did gave them some confidence.
6) Even terrible teams win once or twice a season.

It almost harder to lose em all then win em all.

If I had money on the line you might have convinced me to change my pick. Well, maybe not... :)

Works like a charm! :) Unfortunately, they're on bye WK9.

Week 8 Results, Week 9 Schedule

Technically, NConroe was a minute late posting his pick but I'll let it slide. You're supposed to get your selection in an hour before that game kicks off but no blood, no foul. So everyone is still in the hunt:

Keith: IND, NE, SEA, DEN, STL, SF, GB, NO
Nconroe: IND, BAL, NE, KC, STL, CIN, ATL, SF,
Painekiller: IND, HOU, SEA, TEN, STL, DEN, KC, SF
Popanot: IND, HOU, SEA, DEN, STL, CIN, SD, SF
Warren: IND, NE, SEA, DEN, STL, SF, GB, NO

Not available: IND, STL, SF

The Bengals are going to be dressed like some sort of psychedelic pumpkins for Halloween. Oh, sorry. That's what they normally wear.

Here's your Week 9 schedule:

THUR. October 31st

Cincinnati at Miami (7:25 pm, NFLN)

SUN. November 3rd

Atlanta at Carolina (Noon, Fox)

Indianapolis at Houston (7:30 pm, NBC)

MON., November 4th

Chicago at Green Bay (7:40 pm, ESPN)

Bye Weeks: ARI, DEN, DET, JAX, NYG, SF

Sorry, guys. You can't pick the Colts but one player can still take Seattle. Who's going to hop on the Cowboy chokewagon?

popanot 10-28-2013 02:17 PM

Popanot: IND, HOU, SEA, DEN, STL, CIN, SD, SF

WK 9: DAL

What the heck, I'll jump on the chokewagon. The MINN QB/HC/DEF situation is so bad that AP is going to have to beat them singlehandedly and I just don't think he can do it.

Lots of trap games on that list, IMO (and Dallas is probably one of them).

Week 9 Results, Week 10 Schedule

These just don't change much around here. The Texans embarrass themselves again on national tv and the Fab Five survive another week in the Suicide Contest. It wasn't easy though, especially for those rooting for the Cowboys and Seahawks. Had to be sweatin' there, weren't you?

Here are the updated standings:

Keith: IND, NE, SEA, DEN, STL, SF, GB, NO, DAL
Nconroe: IND, BAL, NE, KC, STL, CIN, ATL, SF, SEA
Painekiller: IND, HOU, SEA, TEN, STL, DEN, KC, SF, NE
Popanot: IND, HOU, SEA, DEN, STL, CIN, SD, SF, DAL
Warren: IND, NE, SEA, DEN, STL, SF, GB, NO, CAR

Not available: IND, STL, SF, SEA

And here's your Week 10 schedule:

THUR. November 7th

Washington at Minnesota (7:25 pm, NFLN)

SUN. November 10th

Buffalo at Pittsburgh (Noon, CBS)
Cincinnati at Baltimore (Noon, CBS)
Detroit at Chicago (Noon, Fox)
Jacksonville at Tennessee (Noon, CBS)
Oakland at NY Giants (Noon, CBS)
Philadelphia at Green Bay (Noon, Fox)
St. Louis at Indianapolis (Noon, Fox)
Seattle at Atlanta (Noon, Fox)
Carolina at San Francisco (3:05 pm, Fox)
Denver at San Diego (3:25 pm, CBS)
Houston at Arizona (3:25 pm, CBS)
Dallas at New Orleans (7:30 pm, NBC)

MON., November 11th (Veterans Day - should the teams be decked out in cammo unis?)

Miami at Tampa Bay (7:40 pm, ESPN)

Bye Weeks: CLE, KC, NE, NYJ

Forget about watching the Thursday night game. College football has Oklahoma-Baylor and Oregon-Stanford that ought to be better to watch.

And, really, there are no gimmes this week, particularly since the Colts, 49ers and Seahawks have already been played. Do you take a chance on the Titans beating the Jags? How about the Fins over the Bucs in spite of the inner turmoil in Miami? Got a hunch on the Saints over the hot-and-cold Cowboys? Or maybe the Cardinals spanking Houston?

Batter up.

painekiller 11-05-2013 01:45 AM

Week 2 HOU
Week 3 SEA
Week 4 TEN
Week 5 St. Louis
Week 6 Denver

Week 10 NO this might change, might go Arizona, gotta see how the week plays out.

popanot 11-05-2013 05:53 AM

Yay, the Jags are back and I haven't picked their opponent yet!! And better yet, I survived picking Dallas last week!

Week 10 - Tennessee

...must be some bad karma coming for picking the Cowboys and Titans in successive weeks. And thanks to their bye this week, I go another week without picking the undefeated Chiefs. Yes, they are the weakest 9-0 team in history.

Nconroe 11-05-2013 12:21 PM

Nconroe: IND, BAL, NE, KC, STL, CIN, ATL, SF, SEA

Yes, sweatin out the Seattle game pretty good last week.

Yup. Time to be a Saints fan. Which are the Cowboys this week? The team that chokes away a sure win or the one that makes a breathtaking comeback?
