Outstanding execution on the five yard line. Now I remember what I loved about Kubiak all these years.

Arky 10-08-2012 09:54 PM

Schaub can't find a receiver and throws it away, inc. 3rd and goal coming up.

Foster for just 2. Texans to go for the FG.

Jets bring the ensuing kickoff back to their 28.

-------------------------------

Pass to Cumberland good for about 25. Ball at the Texan 48.

End of the 3rd quarter.

Nconroe 10-08-2012 09:59 PM

Time for another defensive turnover. Let's go defense.

Man JJo having a rough night.

Arky 10-08-2012 10:02 PM

Greene for 1. 2nd and 9 coming up.

Flags presnap.... Offsides Jets -5, makes it 2nd and 14 coming up.

Kerley wide open on the deep pass - complete, knocked out at the Texan 16.

Timeout Jets..

Arky 10-08-2012 10:07 PM

Tebow in.

Tebow up the gut for 12. 1st and goal Jets at the Texan 3.

Tebow for no gain. 2nd and goal.

Folk's 21-yarder is good.

11:55 left in the game.

Arky 10-08-2012 10:09 PM

Let's ice it, fellas.... Long drive for 7....

-------------------------------

Holliday slips down at the Texan 10. Texans ball.

popanot 10-08-2012 10:10 PM

I am so freaking tired of Holliday's pathetic returns.

chuck 10-08-2012 10:10 PM

Another outstanding return.

Arky 10-08-2012 10:12 PM

Foster one-hands the screen pass for no gain. Ineligible downfield on Texans puts the ball at the Texans 6. 1st and 15.

Foster for 4. 2nd and 11 coming up.

Schaub can't find a receiver and throws it away, inc. 3rd and 11 coming up.

Foster caught on the draw play for no gain. Texans have to punt.

Jets fair catch the punt at their 43. Jets ball.

TheMatrix31 10-08-2012 10:13 PM

Lose the field position battle, lose the game.

chuck 10-08-2012 10:13 PM

I cannot believe that in the 4th quarter the Jets have the ball and are within a touchdown of taking the lead.

Nconroe 10-08-2012 10:14 PM

Shzz, receivers can't get open OL can't run block anymore, loosing momentum.
Defense gotta step up.

Arky 10-08-2012 10:18 PM

Greene for 11.

McKnight caught in the backfield, loss of 8. 2nd and 18 coming up.

Screen to Greene gets 19 and the 1st down. Ball at the Texan 35.

Timeout Jets.

TheMatrix31 10-08-2012 10:20 PM

I have no idea how that wasn't holding on that screen pass to Greene.

Arky 10-08-2012 10:21 PM

Tebow for maybe 1. 2nd and 9 coming up.

Dumpoff pass is not handled, inc. 3rd and 9 coming up.

Sanchez sacked by Watt! Jets have to punt.

Punt is fair caught by Holliday at the Texan 15.

chuck 10-08-2012 10:22 PM

Watt = lunatic

Arky 10-08-2012 10:24 PM

Flags presnap. 12 men on the field for Jets. Makes it 1st and 5.

Foster for about 12. Ball at the Texans 32.

Foster for 8. 2nd and 2 coming up at the Texan 40. A Jet is injured on the play. Injury timeout. 5:32 left in the game.

Arky 10-08-2012 10:30 PM

Foster just short of the 1st down on the run. Makes it 3rd and a half yard.

Foster comes up short..... about a football length short.... Texans to punt with 4:07 left in the game.

Jets fair catch the punt at their 15 yard line. 3:28 left in the game.

chuck 10-08-2012 10:30 PM

Sanchez pass is deflected and INT'ed by KJ! Texans ball at the Jet 42!

chuck 10-08-2012 10:34 PM

D steps up!

Nconroe 10-08-2012 10:35 PM

Tipped pass to Kareem the Man Jackson. Now can we safely run out the clock. I think so.

Arky 10-08-2012 10:39 PM

Foster for no gain. Jets use their final timeout.

Foster for -2.

Foster loses 3.... makes it 4th and 15. Texans to punt.

Punt goes to the 4 yard line but illegal motion on the Texans. Jets decline and accept the ball at their 9. 4 seconds left.

Sanchez pass is deflected by Watt, inc. Time runs out.

Game Over.

Final Score:

Texans 23, Jets 17

Not their best ball game. But it works for now... The "old" Texans would've lost this one....

Nconroe 10-08-2012 10:44 PM

That was approriate for Watt to swat down ball on the last play. JJ is quite a difference maker.

Texans 5-0. Close one.

TheMatrix31 10-08-2012 10:46 PM

Ugly, ugly game but I'll take it. We HAVE to fix our special teams. Also HAVE to get the secondary right again.

Defense only game up 10 points, 7 of which off the Schaub INT.

Watt is an animal. Best player in football so far this year? May very well be.

WMH 10-08-2012 10:47 PM

That was just what we all needed. A wake up call for all of us.

Sunday should be fun, as the Pack had a similar wake up call.

Hope Cush's injury isn't too bad.

Yup. That's what we have to come away with. Texans weren't at their best and they still won with a huge assist from Watt.

I honestly think the difference was when the Jets were on the doorstep in the 4th quarter and they took Tebow out for 2nd and 3rd down. I'm guessing he figures out a way to score given two more chances then the Jets are down by only two with about twelve minutes left.

I think if they'd got that close, we'd find a way to choke but a six-point lead is a little easier.

JJo seems to be hurting but he's a warrior.

One end of the field, a lot of guys were slipping from about the 15 on in. We got a big break when we got that 12-man penalty on the Jets to move us from our 15 to the 20.

Rex Ryan about Watt: "The Knicks should get this guy too."

nunusguy 10-09-2012 08:08 AM

So anyway, are they better than advertised or are we overrated because of an unbeaten record to this point on a relatively light schedule ?
But that was a struggle and it could have gone either way and clearly JJ Watt was the difference. With or without Cushing, JJ is our best and MV defensive player now. But I'm not complaining - I'll definitely take 5-0 in any situation.

Any given Sunday, or Monday, or Thursday, and sometimes Saturday.....

I don't think of them any less today than I did before the game. They are a quality team, capable of beating anyone, anywhere, but if they don't play great on a given night, they can be beaten.

JJo, whom I am convinced is ailing, played his worst game as a Texan, and it clearly affected the entire D. Trindon is a disaster waiting to happen. Graham can't kick the ball in the damn end zone.

Losing Cush is going to suck, no ifs ands or buts about it, but can't sit around and whine, still got 14 games to play.

BUT, we won, and frankly that's all that matters.

That is what I am thinking also. It looked like his strained groin was affecting him.
