This is the worst officiated game I’ve ever seen. Half the bad calls weren’t against us. Just unbiased incompetence.

Arky 10-13-2019 02:56 PM

Chiefs go 3 and out.

Texans with the ball at their 37. Run it down their throats!

5:03 left in the game.

HPF Bob 10-13-2019 02:56 PM

Bridgewater.....he went to Jared! Saints dump the Jaguars!

barrett 10-13-2019 03:09 PM

Gutsy 4th down call. And then intelligently doing what worked all game. Great win. This version of Watson who throws short passes is the best QB in football.

Arky 10-13-2019 03:10 PM

Texans go for it on 4th and 3 and pass to Hop is good for the 1st down.

Kneel time.

Good enough. Well done fellas.

Final score:

Texans 31, Chiefs 24

HPF Bob 10-13-2019 03:11 PM

Nice call, Chuck ;)

HPF Bob 10-13-2019 03:12 PM

Dolphins decide to go for 2, down 17-16. Bubble screen was dropped! Skins survive for their first win. Case Keenum 2 TD passes.

HPF Bob 10-13-2019 03:18 PM

Indy has a bye week so, technically, we lead the AFC South at 4-2.

BTW, thank you Arky for the updates.

Being 4-2 six games into the season is realistically about as good as most fans could expect. The Texans can really begin to separate themselves in the division if they keep the magic going one more week in Indy. The second half of the schedule still seems a bit weaker than the first half.

Need to get some health in the secondary. Hopefully the injury Tytus suffered isn't too terrible, but even without him today, the OL was crushing it. Probably not coincidentally, Watson was as quick as I can recall when it came to getting rid of the football.

When he gets the ball out on time defenses have no answer. Their DBs were playing off because of the big play threat, and the LBs up to deal with the run game. Watson completed short hitches any time he felt like it, including for tons of conversions (including the one that iced the game). Teams are just terrified to play tight man because they know what happens if their DBs turn their back.

So if Watson keeps taking those throws to stay on schedule, he will force teams to give him what he really wants...a chance to make plays downfield when things break down. But if he doesn't take those short throws then the heads never turn, guys never break routes deep, Watson never gets to run, etc...

Broncos fan recap of the early games including Carlos Hyde's f-bombs and Will Fuller V's multiple drops.

Do skip past the ad for "Manscape". All the Texans comments are done by 6:20.

(note: language warning and not just from Carlos Hyde)

I think one of the Fuller drops was lost in the sun. Fuller was kinda making gestures at the sun after the long sideline drop. I dunno, maybe use one of those tinted visors on a cloudless, sunny day? He can look really awkward sometimes when he drops one. I've seen him make some tough catches before, too, so you get the bad with the good with him.

----------------------------------------------

Many mistakes made yesterday and yet they still won. 3 Turnovers. If you look at just the stats, it looks like a Texan blowout. The mistakes kept the Chiefs in the game..... An imperfect win counts the same as an perfect win....

----------------------------------------------

If the playoffs started today, the Texans would be the #2 seed behind the Pats.

-----------------------------------------------

Hoping the Texans keep their heads screwed on straight after this win. They are in a bit of a letdown spot after the nice win over the Chiefs. Indy, IMO, is a more disciplined team than the Texans. I think they are coached better.
Part of it will be for OB to keep reminding them they hadn't won jack, yet....

-----------------------------------------------

Early line has it as a Pickem to Colts by 1 next Sunday.

Fuller had 2 bad hands drops and one drop where he got spun around. His first half was as terrible as a WR can play. I was happy he caught some short passes in the 2nd half. Hopkins also dropped an easy one. If the WRs had helped out Watson the 1st half would have looked like the 2nd and we would have scored 50 again.

I don't think Indy is great. They play well from ahead because they run it and rush the QB. They are like the 2nd best version of the Matt Schaub/Arian Foster Texans. If we fall behind Watson is in trouble. If we start ok we are the better team and it will show.

What do you think of the Broncos? Are they back? Who do you like on Thursday night in Broncos vs. Chiefs?

Two weeks ago when the Broncos were 0-4 and the Chiefs were 4-0, this would have been as easy a pick as Dallas vs the Jets. Oh, scratch that. Maybe Alabama vs the Dolphins.

Broncos are still the same team they've been all year except without Bradley Chubb (ACL) and their secondary is very thin. It's the Chiefs I have to question but getting their speedy midget back should help. Colts and Texans both dominated the running game but the Broncos are more of a cutback team than a blow-them-off-the-ball team. I don't know what the line is but I'd take the Chiefs.

Regardless, I'll be absorbed with Game 5 of the ALCS on Thursday night (weather permitting) which may just be a nice way to avoid watching another drubbing.

Yeah, I watched the Astros last night and recorded SNF. Don't think I'll bother to watch Pitt vs. LAC, now that I know the final score. Astros gotta get one, (preferrably, 2 or more) in New York to guarantee resuming the series back in Houston.....

Chiefs are favored by 3½ to 4 over Denver, BTW. I'm leaning taking Denver and the points but Chiefs to win......

HPF Bob 10-14-2019 06:24 PM

Just think. If we hadn't farted away the final 37 seconds in New Orleans, we could be 5-1. Then again, if we hadn't survived a stupid two-point try by Jacksonville, we could be 3-3.

Maybe this is true if I take the premise that somehow the Colts are better than the Chiefs with a lead, but... we just saw Watson fall behind 17-3 at Arrowhead and win the game. I sorta think Watson has often been a better player when the Texans play from behind.

The chiefs don’t rush the passer or run the ball like the colts. And Watson definitely wasn’t better playing from behind against the Colts in the playoffs.

With this new and vastly improved offensive line it's a whole new world for Deshawn Watson, i.e, there's nothing like providing a QB with pass-pro to
realize his full potential.
