So we send Brown & a 2018 5th round pick to the Seahawks but get a 2018 third round pick instead of a 5th rounder in lieu of Lanes addition to our roster.
Now we are expecting to have 3 third-rounders in 2018, and in addition we will be freeing up another substantial chunk of cap space by jettisoning Brown off to the Seahawks.
If all the Hoodie can get for Garoppolo is a second rounder then I'm not feeling bad at all about this.

Of course the 2nd that NE got will be pick 33 or 34, while the 3rd we get will be back half of the round. But still, considering all of the trades that went down and how cheap a guy like Kelvin Benjamin was, our haul was pretty good.

If I understand this right (Fat Boy's tweet was most unclear):

Texans receive 3rd in 2018, 2nd in 2019

while Seattle receives Duane Brown and a 5th in 2018 while keeping Lane whom I think they wanted to unload as much as Houston wanted to unload Brown.

Game, set, match Houston.

They wanted Lane gone because he lost his job, he makes $4 million, and Duane Brown puts them $5 million+ over the cap.
