Game. Division. The Texans have not been very good a lot of the season but the emergence of Blue and Strong is very encouraging. There is no AFC team that I think the Texans cannot beat. The best team in the conference may be the Steelers with a healthy rapist but those guys won't even make the playoffs. Who's left? The Pats? They don't scare me.

The ensuing kickoff is a touchback.

------------------------------------------------------

Jag's ball at their 20.

Pass to Thomas gets 6.

Pass to Thomas gets 6 more. 1st down with about 2:20 left in the game.

Pass to Robinson goes to the Texan 45.

Pass over the middle to Harbor goes to the Texan 27.

2 minute warning.

--------------------------------------------------------

Dumpoff to Gray gets 4.

Bortles throws it away, inc but flag is down.... illegal shift on the Jags makes it 2nd and 11.

Bortles sacked by Mercilus and Simon. 3rd and 12 coming up.

Bortles pass into the endzone goes inc. Jags going for it on 4th and 12.

Pass to Lee gets 14 and the 1st down.

Pass to Lee gets 5. 30 seconds left in the game.

Pass to Greene at the goal line broken up, inc.

Covington with the sack! Time expires!

Final score:

Texans 30, Jags 6

-------------------------------------------------

Congratulations to the 9-7 Texans, winning the AFC South and heading to the playoffs!

That's it...we're in. Now it's time to get in the film room...I feel very good about the offensive weapons. I just hope Bill can use everyone to their full potential.

The Duane Brown injury may be a problem. Especially against Pittsburgh...If we see them.

popanot 01-03-2016 03:21 PM

Not positive, but I think we'll either get KC or PITT.

chuck 01-03-2016 03:35 PM

Freaking Fitzpatrick can't keep from throwing seventeen picks and the Jets let the Steelers into the party. Nice work, you clowns.

Although KC looks pretty damn good right now. Whoever the Texans play has an argument for being the best team in the conference right now. Whoever ends up with the bye will have to work to win in their respective first games.

The picture in the NFC is equally interesting although completely different. There are two clearly superior teams.

Today was a classic Rex Ryan win. His teams play better to spite others than they do to win for themselves.

Actually, it'll be KC or Denver.

I think either one is beatable with good D and low turnovers, but I'd almost prefer Denver over KC at this point. Manning/Osweiler seems somewhat of a mess right now and their D has been giving up points lately.

chuck 01-03-2016 06:31 PM

Anyone in the AFC is beatable with a strong D and low/no turnovers. I would much rather play the Broncos than the Chiefs but it looks like it will be the Chiefs.

If the Broncos win their division it would not surprise me one bit if both AFC wild card teams play in the conference championship.

Arky 01-03-2016 07:04 PM

So, it's the Chiefs.

Anybody else think Alex Smith has a passing resemblance to Lee Harvey Oswald?

The Chiefs punked us in the 1st game of the season..... OB better be prepared to NOT let Andy Reid outcoach him again...

KC @ HOU
PIT @ CIN

I imagine the Bengals will be without Dalton, which could be big trouble for them. The cool part about the Steelers winning into the conference championship is that it would mean it would be hosted by the Texans if they too made it that far.

Wins by both of the Steelers and Texans would mean that the Texans have to go to Gillette to face the Pats.

Tweeted that Lance McCullers should be the homefield captain next weekend, and he liked the tweet. :D

Last time the Chiefs won a playoff game? Uh... Wouldya believe it came 21 years ago in Houston against the Oilers? Holy cow.

Shame for the Kennedys that it wasn't Alex Smith behind the rifle. Smith would have missed two out of three, minimum.

HPF Bob 01-03-2016 08:21 PM

If Houston wins and the Bengals somehow beat Pittsburgh, the Texans get Denver in the next round while the Bengals get the Patriots.

Arky 01-03-2016 08:48 PM

I'm seeing the Chiefs as a 3 pt favorite on the really early line....

Steelers favored by 2.5 over the Bengals..

The Chuckster has become an insufferable arrogant Texans fan with them clinching the division & a P/O spot. Should this make us nervous, or is it a good omen for the P/Os next weekend ? Think Ill just take it as a good sign and leave it at that.
I was just hopping we could have gotten the Donkeys instead of KC because they just barely squeaked by the Chargers Sunday to win their division.

chuck 01-05-2016 10:42 PM

Insufferable, sure; arrogant? With regard to the Texans? I don't believe that is possible. There just aren't that many good teams in the AFC. Hell, there may not be any good teams.
