Johnson is quick and has very good long-speed, too bad he lost his balance there. Just hang on to the ball, that's his problem.

Arky 11-24-2013 02:14 PM

5:04 left in the half.

Jags are challenging that the punt was downed at the 1 yard line....

Play stands as called. Texans ball at their 20.

--------------------------

DJ goes for 9.

DJ bust loose but trips..... still gets 29 yards.

DJ for 4.

DJ for 5. 3rd and 1 coming up.

Keenum sneaks for 2 and the 1st down. Ball at the Jag 31.

Tate for no gain.

2 minute warning.

Big Texas 11-24-2013 02:16 PM

Johnson just looks way more aggressive then Tate. I know Tate is trying to play for a contract, but he is just too injured and is doing more harm than help. Needless to say, he is not getting any help from the Oline.

BigBull 11-24-2013 02:21 PM

At this point I rather watch Matt dink and dunk than watch Keenum get his clock cleaned because he doesn't recognize the blitz.

nunusguy 11-24-2013 02:21 PM

I dunno, would the fans boo today if Schaub started the 2nd half ?

Arky 11-24-2013 02:22 PM

On 2nd and 10, Texans have a formation problem and call timeout but penalty on Texans for illegal substitution. 2nd and 10 coming up.

Keenum is sacked on the blind side. Loss of 9. 3rd and 19 coming up.

Short pass to DJ goes for 9. Texans to go for the FG.

Bullock's 49-yarder is good.

Jags 10, Texans 3

29 seconds left in the half.

I don't believe the blitz recognition by Keenum is that bad. His eyes are constantly down field. I think that those are some well developed blitzes. The hot routes are covered and the blitz is on him in literally 2-3 seconds.

This is more of a playcalling problem than a blitz recognition. Predictability on the part of Kubiak. They have only been bringing 4, maybe 5 guys.

What game are you watching? He just got dropped by a blitz he never saw because he didn't account for a guy before the snap. I don't think he has made a play from inside the pocket against the blitz in 5 weeks. He either escapes or it's game over, there is no get the ball out where it needs to go.

Like I said, we better be great running the ball, or he better improve. If not he is going to get killed.

Arky 11-24-2013 02:24 PM

Jags down the ensuing kickoff in the endzone, touchback. Jag's ball at their 20.

------------------------------

Pass to Sanders gets 6.

Time runs out.

Halftime.

Jags 10, Texans 3

BigBull 11-24-2013 02:27 PM

This whole team looks so uninspired, but I guess that is what we get from a team that is 2-8.

Arky 11-24-2013 02:31 PM

Halftime stats:

Passing: Keenum 5/12, 32 yards

Total yards: Texans 60, Jags 209

3rd down efficiency: Texans 1/7, Jags 4/10

Red zone: Texans 0/0, Jags 1/2

Here's my point.

Do you really believe that he does not see the blitz. They are not hiding anything. The guys are all crowding the line of scrimmage.

There is clearly no one open to throw to OR the routes are not developing fast enough. Either way that can't all be placed on him.

My issue is that everyone in the league has been made aware of his blitz recognition. Was this not worked on in practice. Max protection, screen passes, draws, or quick passing. Whatever the case fix it. This is a playcalling problem.

Yes he is young and will make mistakes from time to time. But this whole debacle in not only him. I am just surprised he has not made the big mistake and thrown the pick.

BigBull 11-24-2013 02:45 PM

Did Kubiak actually make some half time adjustments?

Arky 11-24-2013 02:45 PM

Tate loses 3.

DJ for no gain. Brings up 3rd and 6.

Pass to AJ goes for 15. Ball at the Jag 8, 1st and goal.

DJ for 4. 2nd and goal from the 4.

DJ for 2. 3rd and goal from the 2.

Pass to Hopkins is caught just out of bounds, inc. Texans to go for the FG.

So it's not all his fault, and there are other problems, and with more around him he could do more, and...

Sounds like what we said about Schaub for the last 3 years. Count me ready for a guy at QB who makes plays and covers other issues. Not just a guy who isn't "solely to blame."

But he just made a great, quick throw to AJ against the blitz, so maybe he can get better.

BigBull 11-24-2013 02:47 PM

On a good note Bullock is having another good game.

BigBull 11-24-2013 02:58 PM

Swearinger almost had a pick there.

BigBull 11-24-2013 03:01 PM

They might as well put a pink jersey on the qbs and a flag to pull for sacks.

Arky 11-24-2013 03:03 PM

Scobee's 49-yarder is blocked by Watt! Keo picks it up and returns it to the Jags 49. Texans ball.

barrett 11-24-2013 03:05 PM

At this point JJ Watt is like the hero of a Greek tragedy. No matter how bad the team plays he keeps showing up.

Arky 11-24-2013 03:07 PM

DJ for 2.

Pass to Graham gets 7. 3rd and 1 coming up.

End of the 3rd quarter.

Arky 11-24-2013 03:12 PM

On 3rd and 1, DJ goes up the middle.....but no gain. Texans to go for it on 4th down.....

Scobee's 53-yarder is good.

Yeah, nice touch down to Jacoby past old Ed.

barrett 11-24-2013 03:34 PM

Do we officially start all must score drives with a ST holding call on the return?

Arky 11-24-2013 03:38 PM

Martin brings the kickoff back to the Texan 13 but flags are down....Holding on Pleasant, 1/2 the distance.... Places the ball at the Texan 7.

---------------------------

Joshua 11-24-2013 03:38 PM

Tampa is winning as well. Legit shot at the No. 1 pick now. That would bookend Kubiak's career here quite nicely.

Jags kneeling it.

Final score:

Jags 13, Texans 6

-----------------------------------

Defense did a fine job. Offense, not so much...

Nconroe 11-24-2013 03:53 PM

Well, those last two passes by Keenum were good. Snakebit and another loss.

chuck 11-24-2013 03:55 PM

Snakebit my ass, they just fing suck.

HPF Bob 11-24-2013 03:55 PM

We're now the Texastros. How long before McNair tries to sue the former owner?

BigBull 11-24-2013 04:02 PM

The 2-9 Texans a new standard of suck.

Like a snake eating its own tail.

And seriously, knock it off with the Astros comparisons. They don't apply for reasons I have explained and then some. I hate the Astros and would love for them to lose 120 games next year but the idea that there is some organizational equivalency between the Astros and the Texans is idiotic.

I've been intellectually rooting for them to lose every game since the SF Sunday night disaster. I figured losses helped us in two ways, draft position and (more importantly) getting Kubiak fired. If you could have asked me for my dream scenario at that point it was 2-14 even over a 9 game winning streak and an 11-5 miracle. It was more than obvious at that point (if not years earlier, I guess I'm a slow learner), that this team was never winning with Kubiak.

But even intellectually rooting against them has not protected me from being continuously disappointed by how terrible we are. We just lost to a team who starts about 1 guy I would sign over the counterpart we have on our current depleted roster (ILB). We are just pathetic.

This is exactly where I am. I sort of will the team to lose and then am pissed when they inevitably do.

I'd sign Scobee, too.

painekiller 11-24-2013 04:49 PM

I also want the entire coaching staff gone, both sides of the ball. I'm on the fence about the GM, could go either way on him.

I want that guy gone first. But I'm almost certain he's not going anywhere.

Hell, at this point I'll be surprised if the owner has the balls to fire the head coach.
