Part of it is we really don't want to run foster and kind of don't want to run Tate. Regular season we would have 20 carries in a half like that. Not that it hurt us much offensively. We gouged them constantly and finished in the redzone.

WMH 08-25-2012 09:00 PM

Kubiak told 610 that Andre Johnson had the wind knocked out of him. Myers wasn't feeling well pre-game. #Texans -- Tania Ganguli (@taniaganguli)

I was thinking that the Saints were not biting on the boot at all. If the Texans can't run the ball effectively (and the jury is out on whether this line can produce yardage) it obviously disrupts the offense completely.

Like I said, we had an unwillingness to run it that was tied to it being a preseason game. They did everything possible to avoid putting the ball in fosters hands. The early bootlegs worked perfectly before it was obvious we didn't want our backs carrying the ball.

The Texans didn't run the ball well because they didn't want to?

Foster ran for 4 ypc and a TD in a 230 yard 24 point half for the offense. I'll leave it at that and let new Orleans "disrespect" our running game.

I said quite correctly that the Saints do not respect the team's running game, not that they 'disrespect' it. You may not appreciate the difference but for the benefit of those that do please do not misquote me.

From Dictionary.com...

dis·re·spect   /ˌdɪsrɪˈspɛkt/ Show Spelled[dis-ri-spekt] Show IPA
noun
1. lack of respect; discourtesy; rudeness.

The very first meaning of disrespect is lack of respect. For example, if I said I lacked respect for the meaning of your above post, that is the same as if I disrespected your post.

Arky 08-25-2012 09:38 PM

You initially misquoted me employing as a verb a word I had not used and now you try to justify it by relaying a definition of that word as a noun.

As I said, in deference to anyone who knows and cares about language please do not misquote me.

Well, it IS the third game so I'd like to think we're getting our wind back. But I'm planning on being a prick for only about the first quarter Thursday.

Yes, chuck, your concern is clearly for language on this one.

From dictionary.com...

verb (used with object)
1.****to regard or treat without respect; regard or treat with contempt or rudeness.

There is no way you can say they showed no respect but did not disrespect.

But it's clearly not about language. The texans offense showed no respect for the saints defense tonight. And the backside defensive end staying home twice on completed passes did not so much as slow the texans.

Arky 08-25-2012 09:51 PM

--------------------------
