Jags are moving up to get Gabbert.
Who do we take: Prince, Quinn, Cameron or Watt ?

Arky 04-28-2011 08:06 PM

Wow, 3 QB's taken in the top 10..... who saw that coming?...

popanot 04-28-2011 08:07 PM

nunusguy 04-28-2011 08:07 PM

Looks like JJ Watt.

NBT 04-28-2011 08:08 PM

J.J. Watt! So much for the CB!

Arky 04-28-2011 08:09 PM

I'm good with it.... :)

BigBull 04-28-2011 08:09 PM

The Texans don't have a clue.:eek::confused:
Watt???

Nconroe 04-28-2011 08:10 PM

JJ WATT. great pass rusher DE , strong and explosive. guess Wade's choice.

TexanJedi 04-28-2011 08:11 PM

If Quinn's medical did not check out then Watt is a good choice.

Then Wade's a idiot like the rest of them fools on Kirby.:(

cland 04-28-2011 08:12 PM

Bleh, how in the hell do we pass on OLB and CB, to get a player we already have answers for?

Big Texas 04-28-2011 08:13 PM

You have got to be kidding me. This is a head scratcher. While I am not to keen on selecting another db but who the hell else on in our secondary is better than Prince.

Roy P 04-28-2011 08:13 PM

I wanted The Prince to play CB and would have been fine with Cam Heyward if we wanted a 5-Tech. We could have traded down and gotten more picks too. Another draft, and another dissapointment. Anyway, maybe Watt can keep Cushing and Barwin clean to make plays.

NBT 04-28-2011 08:13 PM

Is there a CB in our future? Or are we just gonna give it up.

Big Texas 04-28-2011 08:14 PM

So what does this say about Smith and Mario?

Looks as if this guy is a 5 technique.

Wow...

You can always count on the Texans to select "the other guy".

Your first round pick should be a starter and he will be behind Williams and Smith.

I think I might have been good with taking Phil Taylor to play NT instead of Watt. I'm sure after I calm the f&ck down, I'll support Watt and cheer for him. However, I'm flabbergasted.

Well if we see a season this year then it stands to reason we will see free agency and maybe they are gambling on getting a veteran corner.

cland 04-28-2011 08:18 PM

Who do we sit, Antonio Smith or Mario Williams?????? Unless Williams is kicking out to OLB we just drafted depth.

Big Texas 04-28-2011 08:19 PM

Ok let me get this straight...

So with our #11 pick in the draft we select Amobi Okoye....Oh my bad I meant Travis Johnson...Oh my bad I meant J.J. Watt

Jimmy Smith - could he slide because of 'red flags'?
Curtis Brown - I really like this guy's toughness
Brandon Harris - will he be there in the 2nd round when we pick?

I am tired of us picking the "next" guy. Why don't we go after the best...

Year after year we are depending on the "other" guy...

Roy P 04-28-2011 08:22 PM

OMG.....Suh and Fairley. Holy crap! Detroit is going to the playoffs.

Now that's how you build a D-Line...

Take notes Texans

Exactly. I just don't get this team and the direction they're going. They probably could have traded down, and hell, picked up an extra 3 or 4 and still have gotten Watt or someone that will help as much as him.

WMH 04-28-2011 08:31 PM

@NickScurfield
Nick Scurfield
Phillips said there's a possibility that Mario Williams could play DE or OLB. "I wouldn't be surprised at anything he can do."

popanot 04-28-2011 08:38 PM

Watch the Pats take Prince and make us regret not taking another one of their CBs.

Yeah, if we were determined to draft a CB last year, I wanted Devin McCourty

Me too. I never watched much of McCourty in college, but he stood out big-time to me watching the combine. There was just something about his hip movement and fluidty that appeared much better than the other guys.

popanot 04-28-2011 08:48 PM

OK, Texans... Make a bold move and come up and get Prince.

Big Texas 04-28-2011 08:49 PM

They don't know what a bold move is...

Arky 04-28-2011 08:50 PM

First half of round 1:

Player Pos. Team Grade
1 Cam Newton QB Panthers 93
2 Von Miller OLB Broncos 97
3 Marcell Dareus DT Bills 97
4 A.J. Green WR Bengals 97
5 Patrick Peterson DB Cardinals 97
6 Julio Jones WR Falcons 95
7 Aldon Smith DE 49ers 93
8 Jake Locker QB Titans 90
9 Tyron Smith OT Cowboys 95
10 Blaine Gabbert QB Jaguars 96
11 J.J. Watt DE Texans 93
12 Christian Ponder QB Vikings 85
13 Nick Fairley DT Lions 94
14 Robert Quinn DE Rams 96
15 Mike Pouncey C Dolphins 92

Watching Game Changers on NFL Network it seemed to me Aaron Williams was a much better bet than Prince, plus he has short arms.

Maybe, but I don't like to gamble that much.
