Oh, no they didn't! ESPN went BACK to commercial.:mad::mad:

Keith 04-23-2010 06:33 PM

Trade??

Vikings?

Toby!!

HPF Bob 04-23-2010 06:34 PM

We traded down! Vikings on the clock.

We may have dropped to #62.

And the Vikes are taking Gerhart!

Roy P 04-23-2010 06:35 PM

Ok! We traded down and Gerhart is going to be their pick :(

We have GOT to PICK BEN TATE with our next pick.

Nconroe 04-23-2010 06:35 PM

Gonna be Toby, yeah. whoops, ur right. so we swapped 2nds, got their third. 62 and 93 now. and we had 81. I'm ok so far, deep draft right. wonder who we will take that we wanted all along now.

gunslinger57 04-23-2010 06:36 PM

Good job throwing away Gerhart, Smithiak. Very disappointing.

Keith 04-23-2010 06:36 PM

Texans get 62 and 93 from Vikes.

Sweet.

Hey, that's a decent pick up. I think we're going to draft Dixon.

Joe Joe 04-23-2010 06:39 PM

Luv it! Plenty of RBs left and get an extra pick to get a OG, FS, or DT.

Or we'll just pick up another couple of UD FA's.

Sorry I'm bitter now. I'll get over it.

popanot 04-23-2010 06:40 PM

Sorry, but I'm glad we passed on Gerhart.

Roy P 04-23-2010 06:40 PM

My revised draft board after trading down...
1 RB Ben Tate
2 OG John Jerry
3 FS Brandon Ghee
4 OG Jon Asamoah
5 RB Jonathan Dwyer
6 DT Geno Atkins

Keith 04-23-2010 06:42 PM

With their pick of the crop at RB (only McCluster taken after Best?), I wonder if the Texans wanted Mays? They moved down quite a bit, but I'll take that for #93... the depth around here looks okay from where I am sitting.

Rick Smith is a bigot, he obviously didn't want "Mr. TD" to be a white-guy.
On the other hand, it would have been a brilliant commercial move.
Right Bob ? Bob are you there ? Are you awake this evening ? Bob, did you get your meds today ?

jcp 04-23-2010 06:43 PM

Very nice! Thought they could have done that in the first and got there guy too. Now we can pick up Tate who o liked better anyway and the 2 3's can address the dt and og/fsneeds.

The TEXANS trade down!!!! Picking at #62 & we have #93 TOO!!!!!!! I'll take Ben Tate, John Gerry, and Geno Atkins; to go. :)

NBT 04-23-2010 06:46 PM

Well, I thought Toby Gerhart, the Heisman runnerup would have been the ideal pick. We will just have to wait and see how it works out, but if Gerhart is as good for the Vikes as he was for Stanford, I'm gonna be a helluva I told you so!!! And yeah, I'll probably get over it at some point.

Fonz the Boss 04-23-2010 06:48 PM

We will draft Tate but not the one everyone is thinking about. We are getting Golden Tate. We need a solid #2 receiver capable of making big plays and makes defenses pay for double teaming Andre. Kevin Walter is not a #2 receiver IMO.

Roy P 04-23-2010 06:50 PM

Sean Lee off the board for the Cowboys. That's a better pick than Dez Bryant in my opinion.

I just posted something similar awhile ago. Why not use him in a hybrid RB/WR role, ala Reggie Bush?

HPF Bob 04-23-2010 06:55 PM

The guards keep falling. If we can still take Asamoah or Mike Johnson at #62, that's a good move.

HPF Bob 04-23-2010 06:58 PM

Nobody's going to run through Ngata and Cody.

NickO 04-23-2010 07:03 PM

I'm not a big fan of Ray Lewis, but he's the reason B-more can draft questionable guys like Terrance Cody...he won't let him fail. I predict slaps to the back of the head if Lewis sees him with an extra porkchop at dinnertime.

Keith 04-23-2010 07:03 PM

Another trade

FOR BEN TATE!!!!!

HPF Bob 04-23-2010 07:04 PM

We just traded up and took Ben Tate.

Joe Joe 04-23-2010 07:04 PM

Got RB..now just need to give him some help.

kRocket 04-23-2010 07:04 PM

Roy is a happy boy !!!

Nconroe 04-23-2010 07:04 PM

Excellent move, I like Tate a bunch. Big and fast.

I'm one happy TEXAN. :)

I want a Jersey, right now!!!! :D

popanot 04-23-2010 07:05 PM

I'll take that Tate, too. We gave up a 5th.

gunslinger57 04-23-2010 07:05 PM

Well Tate was my 2nd choice, so I'm happier now. Plus, we didn't give up the 3rd from Minny to move back up.

idymoe 04-23-2010 07:07 PM

Effectively, the Texans gave up a 5th round pick and acquired a 3rd round pick, while getting the running back they wanted. Very, very nice.

I agree. If Tate was their guy, it was a good move. And obviously somebody else was looking there too because the Browns just traded up for Hardesty, so they probably wanted Tate and figured they had to snatch Hardesty before he went off the board too.

Roy P 04-23-2010 07:13 PM

Lance Z was saying Hardesty was falling down boards because of injuries, so Ben Tate was THE running back in this draft in terms of value. :D

We also got another 3rd round pick :D

OG John Jerry
FS Brandon Ghee
OG Jon Asamoah
DT Geno Atkins
FS Morgan Burnett
CB Akwasi Owusu-Ansah
DE Daniel Te'o-Nesheim

Blitzwood 04-23-2010 07:20 PM

Great move, again.

Ben Tate>Ryan Mathews IMO.

I love the fact we got another 3rd.

I liked the idea of getting Golden Tate as our #2 also.

nunusguy 04-23-2010 07:21 PM

I like it ! Tate & Slaton. Mr. Inside & Mr. Outside.
So what are we doing with our 2 3rd rounders now ?
