FWIW, here's a couple things about some players discussed in the previous posts that Smith/Kubiak have picked up:
(1) Antonio Smith is a tweener (DE/DT) - not quick enough to play DE full time because he's not a true edge-rusher and too small to play inside at DT on running plays, so I think the the Texans have used him wisely as he's played DE except on nickles he moves in side. Smith has 'bout 4 or 5 sacks this year and he's been our best DKineman (with Mario being injured this year). I really think he's been a solid pickup for us and used well.
(2) Cushing was drafted in part to play the elephant postion (hybrid LB/DE
position in a "4-3 under" D scheme) like he did at USC, so that was a solid application of his skills, but they seem to have departed from that this year as Cushing seems to be showing up a lot on pass defense this year ?
(3) I believe the Texans have moved away from "man" to more "cover-2", which should be a fit for KJ as he's physical but not strong in coverage ?
So their theory for taking him seems to have been solid, though the results on the field certainly weren't ?

They just speculated that Koobs will be gone after yesterday's fiasco. And then they said it is possible for Rick James to go with him. Possible/probable destination? Denver.

They = NFL channel.
